Tele2 welcomes it’s newest member of staff, ICT Specialist Kim Walker

Kim returns to the Sunshine Coast and to Tele2 after seven years away in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

Kim has worked in the ICT industry for over 35 years.  Initially in software development, building trainers and simulators with Marconi Space and defense in Scotland, and later developing automation and control systems for the power and pipeline industry with Plessey in Auckland.

Since 1992 Kim has held a number of positions in the telecommunications market, with carriers and global equipment manufacturers covering most aspects of solution development for end customers and for carrier infrastructure projects.

As the IT industry has evolved steadily towards Cloud services and the Internet infrastructure has developed to support that evolution, business models have also changed dramatically in recent times.

“Tele2 is building on its stellar reputation as a Telstra partner and supplier of ICT solutions.  We’re taking full advantage of the changing industry model; this is an exciting time to be helping customers become more competitive in tough economic times”.

In regional Queensland there are challenges in delivering great communications infrastructure to support business services.  Tele2 has a team that incorporates expertise in fibre optics, wireless technology through network architecture and performance monitoring and management to address these challenges.

“I’m delighted to be working again with Tele2 in a dynamic fast moving environment.  And what better place in the world to be living and working”.
